Anti Social Behaviour Update |
||
DearResident We want to update you on how we are actively combating Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the City Centre. The strategy is focused on a clear three-point plan: 1. High Visibility & Deterrence Patrols, often supported by Safer Streets funding, have been increased to ensure a strong, visible police presence. This acts as a deterrent and provides greater reassurance to residents and businesses. 2. Targeted Enforcement Police are strategically concentrating efforts on repeat offenders responsible for the highest volume of ASB. This includes enforcing powers like Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) for issues such as persistent street drinking, to achieve maximum impact. 3. Partnership & Prevention Police are working closely with the City Council and Canterbury BID's District Watch to share intelligence faster. Furthermore, resources are dedicated to early intervention and youth diversion to address the root causes of ASB before it escalates. We strongly encourage you to report every incident of ASB to Kent Police (via 101 or online) and/or the City Council. Your reports are crucial for directing resources effectively. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Canterbury safe. Best regards | ||
